  1. well, anyone want to give me a player who costs less than 220 points or is exempt? because otherwise i'm only using 9 keepers.
  2. keepers: goldschmidt (exempt) kipnis (exempt) gyorko (exempt) longoria (491.5) darvish (exempt) cliff lee (669.0) shields (619.0) teheran (exempt) shelby miller (exempt) can i add a player who's a free agent and use a keeper on him? minors: dahl marisnick foltynewicz glasnow heaney nicolino sims stratton syndergaard urias
  3. because they're scoring over and over
  4. i can't either, but the second-worst record locks them into a top 5 pick and gives them almost a 90% chance of a top 4 pick, which is fine in a draft this good. plus the sixers have the pelicans pick as long as they don't get extremely lucky in the lottery. a top 5 pick plus drafting somewhere around #11, plus MCW and nerlens noel, is a really strong base to rebuild around. hopefully enough to get a couple of good free agents to jump on board.
  5. I don't know that anyone really thinks he'll ruin a team's chemistry, though it'll certainly make certain NFL players uncomfortable (some have said as much, usually anonymously). But Missouri's success with Sam doesn't really blow a hole in any idea of how an NFL team will handle it. i dunno, some of the argument is that the media attention will cause problems, but a lot of people think that the locker room will just fall apart because other football players can't handle being around a gay.
  6. a team significantly overachieving expectations after one of its leaders comes out of the closet doesn't blow a hole in the idea that a gay player is going to ruin the team's chemistry?
  7. I think a major objective of the bridge was to be able to put more signage up there. A tunnel wouldn't do much in that way. I don't recall that idea even being floated for the neighborhood not to like, though. It was, and looking back it was Tunney who started chirping up about it. I'm not sure if the rest of the neighborhood was opposed. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2013-07-17/news/chi-tunney-threatens-to-try-to-block-wrigley-unless-changes-made-20130717_1_ricketts-family-lake-view-citizens-wrigley-field Anyway, I can see gooney's point. just kill tom tunney and then do whatever.
  8. after reading this page i am reminded of why i hate college football so much.
  9. sixers have lost the last two games by 40+ points each, and trailed at halftime by an average of 36 points. tank mode is fully engaged.
  10. obviously an nfl locker room could never handle the turmoil of an openly gay player, after all missouri's record plummeted from 5-7 to 10-2 when he came out of the closet.
  11. i assume this kid is a star by now correct?
  12. logged in on the wrong account buddy
  13. somebody should have told pete carroll to wait his turn.
  14. is that supposed to be fernando tatis jr, or is there really some guy named fernando tatos?
  15. even great player development organizations have some busts. baez, for example, has a floor of striking out too much to be a major league baseball player. i don't think that will happen, but aside from the super-polished college bats and arms, almost everyone has a floor of complete bust.
  16. it's pretty damn annoying that when the team was spending like one of the wealthiest franchises it happened to have a dunderheads throughout the organization, and now there's smart management at all levels and scrooge mcduck owns the club. why couldn't theo and co have all that sweet sweet cash, and hendry and co be the ones who are broke? granted, they would've become God-awful under hendry but at least they probably would've hauled in a title under theo.
  17. just read the write-up on baez. brb need to change pants.
  18. i am really starting to dislike the [expletive] dodgers.
  19. lol you must be joking. he ran up to him and smacked him on the ass and then held out his hand. he was obviously trolling. it's like if the cubs lost in painful fashion to the cardinals and some cardinal fan turned up in the game thread and said "gee sorry guys, really tough luck there." pete carroll is a truther; that's plenty of reason to hate him. i'm gonna have to go ahead and call bull [expletive] on this, m'kay.
  20. well unless any of the denver players or management out themselves as truthers in the next two weeks, i'm siding with the broncos.
  21. of course they can. guys like brian mcgrattan are not going to just go out and try to goon it up against the sedins. that's not how hockey players go about their business. tortorella had the final change and could have started his top line, instead he started his goons and d-men who will fight. he bears as much responsibility as hartley does. tortorella is a good coach but he's always been a complete and utter knob.
  22. i was looking at the dodgers' payroll on cot's and i stumbled across the fact that they're paying brian wilson $10m this season. i thought it must have been an error. it wasn't.
  23. That is mind boggling "less than 20 what?" hahaha
  24. i almost forgot that vitters was still with the organization.
