  1. not sure if i'm more surprised that oliver perez is still pitching in mlb or that he's only 32 years old.
  2. i just looked at arizona's lineup and thought "Christ, brooks kieschnick is still playing???"
  3. not to mention the cream puff he let in at the start of overtime. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--DzLAKD9UyE/Umvuih7S2XI/AAAAAAAAF-U/nmdH2xAhyIs/s640/fleury+beachball.gif
  4. i love playoff fleury.
  5. i dropped jose valverde and picked up latroy hawkins, which is pretty much the definition of "scraping the bottom of the barrel."
  6. i think this lead is big enough that even veras could close the door here.
  7. how soon until @thekapman gets on rizzo for being too passive when he's supposed to be a Run Producer™
  8. I remember everyone on here started wondering why the hell we wouldn't just give him back around June and maybe even before. And we never did, I don't think. no, we kept him that whole [expletive] year even though he was terrible, in his mid 20s and didn't even have very good stuff. rondon was the same age, but at least he can throw hard and had a good prospect pedigree, plus he missed most of 2011 and 2012 due to injury. keeping patton around for pretty much all of 2009 was just baffling.
  9. wood now with the same number of rbi on the season as valbuena and bonifacio combined.
  10. wasn't there someone saying that penalver looked a lot better than his pedestrian numbers at boise last year? he's off to a nice start.
  11. getting shut out in the nightcap makes me slightly less impressed by tanaka's performance.
  12. nosebleeds and hemorrhoids. this guy is at least creative with his injuries.
  13. i think someone quoted kyle a couple of weeks ago when he was on my foe list, and his post was actually not obnoxious, so i said "oh maybe he's better now" and i unfoed him. boy was that a mistake. i think i'd prefer davearm back at this point.
  14. man, i don't have a [expletive] clue who is coming out of the west. the bruins seem like heavy favorites to come out of the east, but i could see any of the top 6 western conference teams making the finals.
  15. http://www.theonion.com/articles/child-shown-field-where-cubs-suck,35749/
  16. i don't really care about losing, but losing to a team that is pretty much just going to the plate and standing there is really obnoxious.

  18. book it that he'll be better than a guy who is tied for 23rd in mlb history in oWAR? that's a bold prediction, to put it mildly.
