  1. braves just took lenny dykstra's son. hopefully he doesn't give his signing bonus to his dad to invest.
  2. http://www.slubillikens.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=27200&ATCLID=209339035 lasted a long time for a college junior with a lot of top 75 buzz coming into the year (and not bad results during 2014).
  3. high school pitchers from the deep south are the new market inefficiency.
  4. it's the 5th round; if it's not a major overslot then you're not going to be overwhelmed by whoever is drafted.
  5. you do understand that they go under-slot at this point so that they can go over-slot later in the draft, right?
  6. oh God he's into skrillex, we've made a huge mistake.
  7. not surprisingly, bryant is drawing a [expletive] load of walks lately, probably because pitchers feel that walking him is better than the alternative of watching the ball sail over the fence.
  8. bryant snaps out of his slump with an oppo homer.
  9. obviously he has a bruise on his hand/wrist and just needs an extra night off. Christ. "do what you want with that info", wtf
  10. so a fly out to the wall in left and a double to deep left. seems like this guy is pretty locked in right now.
  11. based on the gamecast, bryant flied out to around the warning track in left-center in the first inning.
  12. i feel like someone was intentionally trolling with that jeter graphic.
  13. statistical roundup for bryant: leads SL in batting average: .347 (#2: .331) leads SL in on base percentage: .452 (#2: .423) leads SL in slugging percentage: .684 (#2: .509) leads SL in OPS: 1.136 (#2: .908) leads SL in HR: 17 (#2: 10) leads SL in total bases: 132 (#2: 104) leads SL in runs scored: 46 (#2: 36) leads SL in hits: 67 (#2: 61) leads SL in RBI: 47 (#2: 46) tied for 2nd in walks: 32 (#1: 34) tied for 7th in doubles: 14 (#1: 16) tied for 15th in stolen bases: 7 (#1: 25)
  14. there is a tunnel running right through boston that is named the ted williams tunnel; i'd say he's a easily a more iconic boston sports figure than david ortiz.
  15. i see we've reached the "please everyone pay attention to me!" portion of kyle's evening.
  16. correa has a .315/.380/.484 line in high A-ball as a 19 year old, and is pretty much in everyone's top 10. and they went under slot for him so that they could give a lot of money to lance mccullers, who's currently striking out more than a batter an inning as a 19 year old on the same team as correa. kyle needs to stop talking.
  17. He also previously said he'd be shocked if Kolek was the pick. this makes me very happy, because personally i find kolek terrifying as a prospect. i keep having colt griffin flashbacks.
  18. bryant just hit his nightly home run.
  19. this no-hitter is horse [expletive]. (something about pixie dust and cardinals)
  20. rubi silva almost hit a grand slam. fly out to end the first.
  21. bryant walk. huntsville has decided to take the easy way out.
  22. this wladimir galindo dude seems like he has a lot of pop in his bat for a 17 year old.
  23. it's going to be really hard to hold bryant back in the minors until next june or whatever. i get that teams like to set the arbitration clock back, but given his current production, it would seem pretty ridiculous to keep him in the minors for more than another year. not to mention that they'd probably like more than 3000 fans at games in august in september, and i doubt fans are going to be excited to see arismendy alcantara getting his feet wet.
