  1. I'd guess it'd be really hard to top Bonds' IsoP of .535 from 2001.... and I'd guess that Bonds' IsoD of .247 in 2004 is the all-time single season record in that stat.
  2. Since this is his age 27 season, it wouldn't surprise me to see him reach career highs. He'll be entering his prime. so after his OPS trend of 957/927/855 the past three years, you feel pretty good about him putting up a 1040 OPS this year.
  3. hey how about that, the adam dunn fanboys are predicting numbers much better than his career bests
  4. .312 batting average? Give me a break. 246/392/538 (930 ops)
  5. I too will take a second team if possible
  6. ah i could be suck a prick and pick the bears... but give me the eagles
  7. I'm in a similar boat. I get about 80 bucks if UCLA wins it all, and I double my entry fee($5) if UCLA loses to G'Town. somebody who's 100 points behind me will beat me by 20 points if O$U beats the Hoyas and then loses to UCLA. I'm still quite bitter that the freakin Buckeyes are still playing in this tournament.
  8. yeah lee's injury last year was the reason the cubs didn't win the world series
  9. sweet, i win some solid cash if UCLA beats G'Town in the finals, and win some money (though less) if UCLA beats Ohio State. I'll take it.... go Bruins!
  10. unbelievable.... over 90% from the free throw line. Hansborough is only a 76% shooter and now he can't miss.
  11. I used to go about 85 on the interstate and 60 on two-lane local roads (speed limit 45)... but after wiggum gave me about 7 tickets in a 3.5 year stretch, I slowed down. No speeding tickets in the last 3.5 years (knock on wood)
  12. yeah i was getting nervous; thought maybe someone stole it from under our noses within the last 20 minutes. Thanks for the reassurance, Chevy.
  13. I look forward to watching the NBA draft and laughing at whoever takes Josh McRoberts and Aaron Gray - unless it's the Sixers, in which case I'll cry.
  14. I don't think so. He works hard, and with his size and talent he'll at least make a pretty good pro, even if he doesn't become an all-star
  15. I think we've established that this is still OUR country.
  16. Being as the Sixers have probably played their way out of Durant/Oden territory, I'd be happy if they got Horford. He's a beast down low and unlike a lot of big guys, he KNOWS that his game is all down on the post. You won't see him go soft and start settling for mid-range jumpers in the NBA.
  17. Here's the good news about Humphrey, from his wikipedia entry: unfortunately this has since been deleted... figured it wouldn't survive too long on that page
  18. Didn't Humphrey have a big game against UCLA in the title game last year? 15 points, 4-8 from three. Seriously though, I fail to understand how teams can't stop a player like this. Stay in his face when he has the ball because he can't drive by you. Be smart on screens and either switch or run through them. When we played good shooters in rec league I'd just run with them and keep my hand in their face, and they'd do nothing.
  19. I'm more interested in Brad Eldred. If he has learned some plate discipline, he could be a very intriguing power hitter.
  20. Memo to UCLA. Lee Humphrey has attempted 586 field goals in the past two years, and 477 of them have been for three. Bottom line - you know what he's doing, and you find someone to stay in his face the entire game.
  21. God-awful defense. Lee Humphrey has absolutely no offensive game other than the spot-up three, and they're still giving him looks. Oregon doesn't deserve to win if they can't stop a player that one-dimensional.
  22. well i think we can safely say that sending him down to the minors was a huge mistake
  23. Florida is at 50% from outside the arc though... they've been shooting really well too. Oregon needs to rebound the ball better at the defensive end, though.
  24. yeah i'm not sure if they pay the refs or just the players, but how is oden getting wrapped up an intentional foul, but him throwing someone out of bounds not one? These guys really need to lose, I'm tired of the luck and the b.s. calls going their way.
  25. And if the ref calls a flagrant foul, like it would normally be called in rec league, high school, college, or NBA, Xavier wins the game too. You can't control the what the refs are going to do and can't assume anything. You can control making your own free throws. Xavier didn't make theirs, too bad for them. I don't buy that. Like if the ump makes a bad call on a play at the plate to end the game... you can say "well you shouldn't have given up the hit in the 9th" or "should've scored more runs", but when a ref screws up, he screws up. Why even have a flagrant foul rule if you're going to let a guy push an opponent down to the ground? I guess he needs to pick him up and crack him over his knee to get a flagrant foul in that spot.
