  1. he has 16 BB in 58 PA, good for a .190 IsoD. his IsoD as a minor leaguer was .144... last year at AAA it was .174. According to Rotoworld, he's achieved one of the three true outcomes (BB, K, HR) in 72% of his PAs. and that 1.429 OPS is awful juicy
  2. the one against ward? it was right down the middle, belt high.
  3. jeez ramirez, at least pretend that you might swing at the first pitch
  4. I didn't hear it, but it was probably something similar to this. http://jonmdavis.net/cubs/september272003g2.mp3 I think this one is my all-time favorite ron santo call.
  5. really wish i could hear some audio highlights from this one... ronny must have been going nvts
  6. it's wilken... not wilkens, wilkins, etc.
  7. i have a better idea.... how about we take the things that really aren't working - i.e., Scott Eyre - and get them off the team, rather than take the things that are working moderately well (Guzman as 5th starter, Dempster as closer) and screw around with them.
  8. agreed.... actually the biggest negative for them is the apathetic atlanta fan base
  9. good idea... how soon before his arm falls off?
  10. took a 95 mph Matt Cain fastball out to right yesterday... 8th HR, and is tied for the MLB lead in HR this month.
  11. I'm almost hoping it goes Wieters-then-Price so that I can't be enraged when the Cubs pick Vitters.
  12. I've not given up on him yet either. Yes, he's had a poor start this year, but he was very good from 2004-06. If he sucks this year, it wouldn't surprise me if Dusty's meaningless overuse last year has something to do with it.
  13. well, iowa might be crapping the bed tonight, but e-patt is having another strong game.... 2-3, double, triple, 2 RBI.
  14. Not if you know what you are doing. That said Ryan Harvey and Earl Cunningham say that we don't. Oh and no one thinks Vitters is in the same class as any of those guys were. Why on earth would you bring Cunningham into the argument? It's a credibility destroyer. Not really. People thought Earl Cunningham was an amazing talent. They thought Ryan Harvey was the next Dale Murphy. Everyone things that the top-5 pick they're getting is a can't-miss prospect, but in reality, he's probably not.
  15. This would literally be my worst nightmare... I can't wait.
  16. unfortunately he had quite a floor as well If you ask me, that floor is quite shoddy and unstable. There appears to be a lot of unsafe spots that can cause him to fall right through to an even lower level. I'm hoping that he falls onto a pitcher's mound at that lower level.
  17. Problem is, he's been so bad that you just cannot pitch him in close games. How can you have a guy on the team who can't play except in games that become a joke? With a competitive team, that's wasting a roster spot that could be used to win close games. With a bad team (i.e., this one), it's wasting a spot that could be used to test minor leaguers for next year.
  18. if we needed to increase the number of people on this team who can't get on base, corey would be a good pickup
  19. well that's not even close to being true, but whatever
  20. you're assuming the cubs are smart enough to draft wieters, which clearly they aren't. josh vitters will make casey mcgehee expendable, however.
