  1. I also need a text message... I'm on the road in Atlanta and probably won't have access to the internet all day. Who wants to be a pal? Just remember for whoever agrees to send Truffle this text message that you are very likely to get a very angry text message back decrying the high school player that was taken :D not if i smash my phone against the wall first!
  2. jones, eyre and izturis for granderson
  3. bitter detroit fan?

  5. Cubs can do much better than Beau Mills, Josh Vitters, Jarrod Parker or Dudley Doolittle at 3, but unfortunately they won't. :x
  6. Smokies win on a Sam Fuld RBI double 2 perfect innings for Samardzija... 3 ground ball outs, 2 fly ball outs and a K
  7. Yes, because Hendry has such a poor track record with trading players There's a difference between trading for a player(Lee, Ramirez, Barrett, Pierre(whoops!), Nomar) and trading away a player(Sosa, Patterson, Maddux). Hendry is awful at the latter, and that's what he'd be doing with Z. Sosa, Patterson, Maddux are terrible examples. None had anywhere near the value that Zambrano has. Both the pro- and anti-Hendry camps should realize that there is no comp for Zambrano on Hendry's trade resume. So using history to speculate about how well he'd do is pretty futile and silly. not really. It's Jim Hendry. As a general manager, he's done a very poor job. Odds are that he'll do a poor job in what he gets in return for Zambrano.
  8. price's bonus demands are not that high... if tampa doesn't pick him i'll be shocked.
  9. I dont think so. He has very good mechanics, and a very smooth, free and easy release. He is a very low risk to have an injury. very low risk? he throws a baseball from a pitcher's mound, which immediately rules out "very low risk." Plus he throws 98 mph in high school... how often do those types of guys not end up getting hurt?
  10. over/under on how soon parker needs arm surgery after we draft him? i'm going with two years.
  11. Ryan Harvey reminded the scouts of Dale Murphy.
  12. unwilling to adjust is often, more accurately, unable to adjust
  13. Yep...this is what was so frustrating about Corey. Don't see that - he was one of the hardest workers in the system, routinely show up earlier than he had to for spring training. yeah but he didn't improve, so he wasn't trying
  14. Juan Pierre because he's a bad evaluator of talent
  15. to temper your excitement - jim hendry will be the one trading him.
  16. AWESOME. I was eagerly awaiting this post.
  17. just gave imb a sympathy vote
  18. How in the world does that make sense? yeah this isn't quite as dumb as a trade idea involving wright or reyes, but it's getting there.
  19. Jeff Francis or Matt Holliday please Troy Tulowitzki and Chris Iannetta. I would all about that trade possiblity! yeah unfortunately the rockies are not run by cubs fans
  20. he actually has some plate discipline. corey didn't.
