  1. I'm jealous. Take me with you. Believe me, you don't want to go to July. I'm thinking you meant in July  But yeah, have a great trip. And he's right about not wanting to go in July, it's monsoon season. Bombay averages like 30 inches of rain in July... one day a couple of years ago it rained 38 inches in 24 hours there. And when it's not pouring, it's about 95 degrees with 150% humidity.
  2. \:D/ Maybe I could win a popularity contest on the Brewers board. But really, this thread kinda should be made fun of. Even if Braun is arrogant - and I don't know if he is - so what? You can't say that guys like Ramirez, Soriano and Big Z aren't cocky and brash at times. We celebrate when Ramirez hits a ball and watches it for five seconds, but demand that Pujols get drilled when he does the same thing. Every team in baseball has cocky a-holes, and if they happen to be on a rival team, we dislike them. But really, what I don't like about Braun is that he's raking like crazy. He's not Albert Pujols and he'll come back to earth, but yeah... the reason people don't like him is because he's putting up needed offense for a team that we're chasing and is winning close games. As posted earlier this year, I envy the way that the Brewers were built. Doug Melvin did a fantastic job of putting together a club with a good, largely homegrown offense and a deep pitching staff. That's why I picked them to win the division this year. Even if we're able to overtake them, they have a team that is built to win for the next five years. I just hope that they don't win 8-)
  3. Yeah I think Kendall knows more about Zito than just what he's seen this year  I'm gonna go out on a limb that Jock won't be in the lineup. Facing a LHP with a big breaking ball... sounds like someone against whom Jock would be absolutely brutal.
  4. OMG SOTO HAS A 1.000 OPS AND KENDALL HAS .550 OPS YOUR CRAZY JIM
  5. golden sombrero for rundle tonight! Donaldson drew a pair of walks, though.
  6. yeah what the hell was this about? you shouldn't throw trash on the field ever, but at least i understand why it's happening when an ump blows a call or the bullpen blows a lead. But when your team hits a clutch 2-out double? Come on.
  7. don't be mad at the brewers for knowing how to scout and develop position players. Some organizations actually are into that sort of thing.
  8. yeah, it's not really fair to include him. He was amazing the first half of the season that he made the ASG, and he wouldn't have fallen off so badly if not for the arm issues.
  9. be good at baseball... let's be honest, that's the reason that people don't like him.
  10. i'm guessing that if y'all weren't cub fans, you'd probably hate ARam and Soriano. They come off as being full of themselves too.
  11. Yeah that was a bad ball, but I used the DVR and watched every pitch that he threw... he was down in the zone with most of his pitches, except the ones that Koyie wanted high. The curve had nice bite and was ending up at the knees or just below. There weren't a lot of really hard hit balls. After the top of the 8th, I was gonna say we should just call him "Hard-Luck Rich", but I guess since ARam got that double, we can stick with "One Pitch" as his nickname.
  12. that pop-up slide and helmet throw by fontenot was awesome
  13. that stride lincecum takes off the rubber is amazing... he's almost off the dirt the time he releases. still, let's hit him hard.
  14. keeping the ball down nicely so far... keep it up mr. hill On another note, how funny is it that the announcer said Rich Aurilia is the type of guy who can help you win a championship? Or that he referred to Aurilia as "one of the veterans" on the Giants? Like the Giants have anyone who's not close to collecting social security.
  15. I feel bad for him. I do too... he really didn't get a chance (only 35 PAs as a Cub), got in a really bad slump, and then the Cubs shipped out the wrong guy.
  16. i predict he'll become a yankee... wil nieves might be the worst-hitting position player in the game.
  17. he's a better backup catcher than some teams have. I mean come on, Paul Bako? Wil Nieves?
  18. It would make Hendry look really, really bad if that were to happen. But I'd be all for it. He's crap. he's better than Koyie Hill, who absolutely sucks and is a pointless player on this team. Both are pretty bad. How would you differentiate between the two? I guess I'd give Bowen an edge defensively, and he has a little better plate discipline. Bowen's PECOTA numbers aren't totally horrendous, either.
  19. It would make Hendry look really, really bad if that were to happen. But I'd be all for it. He's crap. he's better than Koyie Hill, who absolutely sucks and is a pointless player on this team.
  20. That Taiwanese guy (Wen) now is 1-11 with 3 BB and 9 Ks. Seems to be a two true outcomes player.
  21. okay their lineup is bad with bonds in in... without him it's downright horrid
  22. good thing we didn't sign this bum in the offseason of 2003-04... those back injuries have really slowed him down, and he's come nowhere close to earning that $14M per year contract.
  23. i knew he was white when he talked about how into softball he is.
