Lilly has sliced his BB/9 in half from where it was the past three years. I don't know if that's a fluke or owes to something Rothschild has done, but I like it. A pitcher with Ted Lilly's stuff should not be walking 4+ guys per nine. -
he got suspended??? Come on. They should start suspending umpires for being belligerent a-holes, or for blatantly costing teams games (like the Phillies right before the ASB)

On the other side, Marquis has been good against Biggio, Everett (no help there), Ausmus, Burke and Lamb. He's gotten destroyed by Berkman (586/692/897/1589 in 29 AB); Carlos Lee (1.182 OPS) and Ensberg (1.229 OPS) also beat him up pretty good.

Well that's encouraging. Hasn't Wandy pitched really well against the Cubs in the past? No... 30.2 IP, 31 H, 16 ER, 11 BB, 16 K... 2-3 record, 4.70 ERA.

the giants starting lineup today was a combined 317 years old (average of 35.2) When Pedro Feliz is the youngest hitter in your lineup, you really should re-evaluate the way that you're building the team.

Rockies??? In other news, Cards pitching has surrendered 23 runs and 37 hits in the last two games. Their forays to the trash heap (Wells, Maroth) haven't gone so well. He's giving updates on the Dodgers game while cheering for the Rockies to beat the Brewers even though that game hasn't started. Weird, isn't it? yeah, that confused me. I thought he was saying that Winn was on the Rockies. But anyway, go Giants and go Rockies.

Angel Villalona is the Giants $2.1 million dollar Latin American signing from last year...he's 16 years old still. $2.1M for a 16 year old? Jeez. I am all for putting money into the international market, but that's just a lot of cash for a prospect with far too much variability, IMO.

Lincecum has a great arm, but he's a RHP, who we've been hitting well lately. So is Cain. Morris' ERA belies mediocre secondary stats, and Zito hasn't pitched well this year. But Zito probably scares me the most because he's lefthanded. But yeah, the Cubs should be able to hold down that piss poor lineup of theirs. As long as they don't let Bonds beat them singlehandedly.
