At the very least, I'd like to see more than 36 AB at short-season before promoting him. plus you don't want him to take playing time away from any of the zero prospects currently in peoria.
Scott Moore has a .852 OPS now... he's really gotten going after a bad first start. Obviously he's not going to be a starter with ARam in his way, but he could be a pretty solid backup option next year. PECOTA likes him a lot - has him at around a .265/.340/.480/.820 line the next few years.
Ehhh... He might not be dumb enough to take on Izturis. But he did give Burnett a stupid contract that he now regrets. i knew that signing was a train wreck the minute it happened.
I disagree, his K/9 and BB/9 are both very good and he's been the victim of some bad luck (.350 BABIP). Moreover, the Texas League is a hitter's haven. They play in some bandboxes out there, so his 1.28 HR/9 probably isn't as bad as it looks. Which website provides this stat? I checked Baseball America and didn't see it and I'm guessing milb.com won't give it. http://firstinning.com amazing site for minor league stats.... similar to hardballtimes.com in terms of their coverage.
kudos to the bullpen for a great game... just got done watching the important innings; fun watching the wuertz and marmol K's even though I knew they were coming. And of course the D-LEE power.
Never say never. We'll take Sosa, Gagne, Young, and Lofton and give them Jones, Eyre, Izzy, and Bowen/Hill. Even Hendry might welcome Sammy back with that deal. hey if we're ripping them off, might as well have them throw in teixeira too
based on how they have won recently, there's no reason to think they can't keep it up. Sure there is... the Cubs just aren't that good. But they still might be good enough to win the division without playing better than every team in baseball.
