  1. Old poster checking in here - thank you for keeping the party rolling for 15 years Tim. Well I think a lot of the old posters left. People here became [expletive] and some of the best guys left. There are still some good folks here but frankly I rarely ever post anything here anymore because of the way things have gone here. It's sad I used to love these boards. Mostly I come here for Ct, Tiger and Raisin and how great the minor league forums are/have been. Outside of that I mainly just lurk these days and I've been around since the beginning. This series was incredible and one I'll never forget. I think we are going to get much deeper before it's over and maybe we win it all. I'm the same way. I lurked here for a while before I even registered my username, but then got frustrated with the negativity (which I've since learned is NOT even close to being exclusive here). Been around several other boards and really loved the discussion on /r/ChiCubs, but really missed it here. Came back here at various points over the summer to lurk and am loving the discussion and banter so far during the playoffs. Huge kudos to Tim for keeping this place going through some really dark times for Cubs fans.
  2. A closet. Imagine a room about half the size of the part of the cubs lockerroom shown above. The cubs lockerroom has like a little kitchen and a weight room attached to it. The visitors does not. It's just a little square room. We took the tour about two weeks ago it was absolutely amazing. The visitors' locker room actually does have a kitchen/break room area attached to it for players and a seperate trainer's room. It's by no means as nice as the Cubs' locker room, but it's not THAT bad. The cool thing is that it's the same location as it's always been (the Cubs' locker room has changed three times) so it's the same locker room that Ruth and such historic players used. Kind of a cool feeling walking around in there. I took a ton of pictures also(including our favorite Cubs reporter Bruce's seat - he's got a great view of the games). I'll post some of the best when I get a chance.
  3. Not only without him, but with this distraction. This has the ability to completely ruin their season.
  4. wtf are you misreading my post? no offense dude, but it kinda sounded creepy...
  5. Indianapolis would be a good city also. They have successful franchises in both football and basketball. I think they're overdue.
  6. I noticed that. It was obviously on purpose. Why else would they show that after Harden struck out Kendall?
  7. anyone else notice a bit of a limp from Sheets after that play at first?
  8. Aren't these guys professional athletes? Shouldn't they be used to heckling? What the hell is their problem? They're also human beings who get annoyed when people yell insulting things at them for hours on end. Forgive me if I don't feel sorry for them.
  9. He should've gotten the W today, fortunately for us the Dotel Hotel was open for business!
  10. Anyone know which station Len and Bob will be on? I need to know which one to DVR. Any help would be appreciated.
  11. I kinda liked it. A good announcer knows when to shut his mouth and let the crowd do the talking. Vin Scully is a great example of this. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that that's not why he shut his mouth. Also, anyone notice Alphabet Soup walking off the field seconds after the ball left the bat? He knew it was gone immediately.
  12. That's because they know they'll get a "headline" response.
  13. Yes it was, so was his Sosa. His G.A. Hill was hilarious.
  14. Sorry if this was posted elsewhere. I searched for it, but didn't find it. If not, enjoy.
  15. Runners on first and second with no out; runners try to steal; the batter pops up; the infield fly rule is called so the batter was out; the third base coach stops the runner who was stealing third but the runner stealing second keeps going and passes the other runner so he was out; finally the ball hits the runner as he is retreating to second so he was out. Very interesting. I figured someone on here heard the story. Thanks!
  16. Did anyone see BBTN last night? They were pitching a story about a wild triple play, but it must have been at the very end of the show and I fell asleep before they told it. Did anyone catch it?
  17. Who knew Edmonds was traded to the Astros?
  18. Not to those of us who weren't there last year.
  19. why are you not going? this will be my first year attending, I'm extremely excited!
  20. Z/Barrett fight, three times in five minutes. That's a little much,,,
  21. I actually agree with Bonds. Why, because he got about $10m worth of publicity for $750k? Sounds pretty smart to me. Not only does he get the publicity but he makes a statement. Some would call it brilliant.
  22. This thread might have gone dumb, but it's no where near the dumbest. I don't know, I think your avatar might have pushed it over the edge,,,
  23. This has turned into the dumbest thread I've ever seen on this message board.
  24. The guy laughs about it at first, then he's mad, then he wants to fight, then as he's throwing about his expletives, they flash the Pepsi Fan of the Game under him. That was classic.
