Tropicana Field is not an hour away from downtown St. Petersburg and it is not dark. The biggest problem is that the team stinks so there aren't many fans in the seats. This leads to games there lacking much excitement.

No it is an hour away from Tampa and it is in St. Petersburg (sorry if I wasn't clear in the last post). At least it took me an hour to get there from Ybor City the one time I went.

To me the stadium had the feel of an empty warehouse. Maybe they didn't have the lights turned up or something but it was like a night game.

but the biggest problem is the owner. Agree?

Hopefully they solved that problem this offseason.

And free parking!

On my drive into work this morning at 3am I was listening to ESPN radio, one of the night guys, and he was saying that Nomar is interested in playing in a utility role for a team, this was the first I heard of this. He didn't give any sources and just glossed over it as if it was a well known fact. What a fantastic signing that would be if Hendry could convince Nomar to stay in a utility role!

Am I just in the dark about this one or is this a new development?

My opinion on Nomar is that he wants a chance to show he can still play. However, he commands a large salary. I think it would be hard for a team to pay a guy 5 or 6 million to be a utility player.

I would love to have Nomar. I think he is a "good" guy, or it seems that way from afar. But the Cubs already signed Neifi to fill Nomar's role.

If the Cubs unload Walker and don't get Furcal I would hope Hendry makes a call to Nomar's agent and asks if he is willing to play 2nd base for a 1 year contract the is based mostly on PAs.

I don't think Nomar will sign any time soon. But then again I am usually wrong about this stuff.
