I think I remember some of you used to be somewhat high on this guy. Anyways I would do this deal in a second if it's Welly for Bigbie straight up.

Larry Bigbie - OF - Rockies

The Rockies offered Larry Bigbie to the Mariners for Yorvit Torrealba and the Indians for Josh Bard, but neither club seems interested right now.

The Mariners want pitching in return for Torrealba. The Indians are holding out for Ryan Shealy, which isn't happening. According to the Denver Post, the Rockies also have an offer out for Cubs reliever Todd Wellemeyer. Bigbie might be involved there, too. Dec. 1 - 1:40 pm et

I'll pass. I think Welly has a lot more potential than Bagbie and I'm not impressed with Bagbie's #'s. .239 BA last year? No thanks... thats not the type of OF this team needs to acquire.

I was talking about as a 4th outfielder. I don't want him as a regular either. But he'd be a nice left handed hitter coming off the bench, plus he could be someone nice to spot start at one of the corner spots once every coulple of weeks.

Doesn't Mabry make Bigbie a bit redundant? I would guess that a trade for Bigbie makes Hairston's days numbered, which then also leaves the Cubs too thin in CF when they dump Patterson, Hairston and Greenberg, all of which seem like they are on their way out of Chicago.

If LA hangs on to Bradley, who other than Pierre is available to play CF? Pierre will cost a bundle once he's the only CF left on the trade market.

Will LA trade Bradley to the Cubs if Furcal signs with the Cubs? After losing out on Giles, they seem a little more intent on keeping Bradley.

Wilkerson is a possibility, but they want Cedeno. I want Cedeno if we are moving Walker.

To me, Bigbie seems just like the type of guy Baker would put in LF in place of Murton because of the "need" for a lefty, as well as the "veteran" leadership Bigbie would bring.

Mabry wouldn't displace Murton, but with Dusty, I wouldn't be so sure about Bigbie.

That was a windy way of saying no thanks to Larry Bigbie.
