I still don't think they'll make a QB change at least until they lose one, but I also am not as opposed to it as I was. Orton is not accurate past 15 yards like Careless has pointed out.

It doesn't help that they didn't really throw one deep ball all game. When the defense can key in on a 15-20 yard bubble it's probably harder to be accurate.

The interception was a reasonably deep pass....30 yards or so.

And it was also a stupid route and a bad play by Gage.

I would *love* to see them run a post pattern just once. Or maybe a couple crossing routes downfield, but Turner obviously has no faith in Orton.

If they are going to play Grossman, then that decision has to be made early in the week so he can practice an entire week. I'm not keen on counting on a guy who hasn't played an NFL game in 14 months to come in off the bench and produce.

I'm not arguing for a change right now. I do think they'll stick with Orton this season...I don't think they have a lot of faith that Grossman can stay on the field, and they don't want to bounce back and forth on QB's.

But I'm also less confident that Orton will win the job over Grossman next season...

Ugh, I get that game and Miami vs Oakland. What a horrible selection.

The only afc games on right now are miami/oak and jacksonville/AZ. Not much CBS can do about it

You say this after the bears beat 2 first place teams in a row, one on the road?

Yes.. because the offense is HORRID. They have scored 2 TDs in the last 2 games.. and both were set up inside the opp. 10 yd. line because of a takeaway from the D.

Aside from that ... they have 4 FGs in 2 weeks for their "offensive output."

THAT is sickening .. and eventually - especially in the playoffs .. that won't get it done.

Meet your 2000 world champion baltimore ravens.

edit: also, they were going against the second and third best defenses in the NFC

This should spark some discussion....from the ESPN Primetime HQ chat...

JEREMY GREEN: Why do people hate Orton? The guys has led this team to 8-3. The only way Grossman ever sees the field is if Orton get hurt. Grossman is the mot over-hyped/injured QB in the NFL. He hasn't done anything in this league.

tom (chicago): what has Orton done? post the second worst QB rating in the NFC...he has nothing to do w/ their success..

JEREMY GREEN: All he does is win games on a weekly basis. I am not answering anymore questions about Grossman. This is a non-issue.

dartz (jersey): Orton doesn't get any respect b/c he isn't very good, bottom line

JEREMY GREEN: The guys is a rookie QB in the NFL that has led his team to 8-3. How good is he going to be? No, he's not great, and name me some rookie QB's that were. If any Bears fan complains about Orton than go trade him for Cade McNown.

LOL, Jeremy Green. That guy is a genius, or not.

I love how he just dodged the facts. I also love how those guys just took it to him.

Come on Fox...gimme NY-Seattle instead of GB-Philly... :P

I get that game, but I didn't get the Bears, I'd gladly trade, haha.

And in fact, Rams-Texans is in OT now, so I still don't get to watch a game I wanna watch.

Seattle-Giants here in Tucson, got to watch the Bears-Bucs game too, at least I don't get Cardinal home games.

Was that supposed to disprove my point?

I'm not impressed. Kyle will be lucky to sniff anywhere near 17 TDs.

I'm pretty sure he was trying to prove your point. What I'm not sure about is whether it was on purpose or not. I believe he might've thought that you were saying Orton this season is comparable to Ben last season, which you obviously weren't.

Either way, Orton sucks.

I think he was just backing your statement with stats. You know, those things that those people who back Orton don't use. :)

This is another impressive win for the Bears. They've already surpassed Atlanta as the NFC team I fear most as a Panthers fan (for obvious reasons) and it's becoming just as obvious to the rest of the league that Da Bearss are a force.

Thanks for giving us back sole possession of 1st place...only fair since you took it away to begin with.

Orton sucks, but they win. It's not like Grossman can make them win MORE. What, do the Bears get two victories today if Grossman is in?

I'm not sure you throw a guy who has missed 20+ straight regular season games into the middle of a legit playoff push

No, I was agreeing with you. Orton isn't too great and really hasn't improved much with quite a bit of playing time. It's kind of scary.

Our wins come from the run game and defense. Our passing game is almost non-existent w/ Orton. If Grossman is healthy, I hope he starts.

I just don't see the point of switching QBs when your starter has helped win 8 games, including 7 straight. Maybe it's because I've been anti-Grossman since the day he was drafted. I always thought Grossman would be a bust, and up until this point, due to injuries, I'd say I've been right. The guy up there is right. Grossman can't make us win more, and infact, all he can do at this point is bring this team down. Until Orton has another 3+ INT game, or completely costs us a game with off the mark passes, I don't see any need for a quarterback controversy.

Also, for the record, I'm not pro-Orton in any way, I'm just pro-winning. I'd be saying the same thing if we were performing like this with anyone under center.
