Furcal - Cubs 4 years $36 million

Damon - Red Sox 4 years $42.5 million (They can have him at that price)

Burnett - Blue Jays 4 years $50 million ( See Damon)

Wagner - Phils 3 years $30 million

Ryan - Yanks 4 years $30 million

 

Additional comment: He says that the Yanks could sign Eyre, Sauerbeck, Dotel, & Howry for less than Ryan.

Hard to argue with his choices. Although, I feel the Angels, Mets and Orioles could be in the running for some of these guys too, namely, Damon to the Angels, Ryan to the Mets and Burnett to the Orioles.

Sounds like the Angels really want Manny, which may take them out of the running for most other free agents.

I wish WE would sign Eyre, Sauerbeck, Dotel and Howry. We have the money, and I strongly feel a bullet-proof, deep bullpen is a must. OK, you wouldn't need all four with Williamson, Wuertz, Ohman and Dempster around. But two of the four, absolutely. Howry and Dotel, please.

I think Howry has a good chance of happening but a trade for Betancourt or someone of that caliber would seem more hendry esque.
