I was too depressed to come anywhere near baseball once October started to shape up the way it did, so I am only just now going through the reconstructive steps to recovery, and only now have read this thread. This article looks like it would really hit the spot right now, but stupid chicagosports.com doesn't keep archives around.

 

Anyone who could get me text/a link to this article would be my hero forever.

 

Also, as far as I'm concerned, the Cubs have just as good of a chance as anyone in '06. They just need Prior/Wood to be something they have a little trouble with - healthy and good. They also need people to step up and play out of their minds. And they need a manager to recognize this and foster it, rather than getting Neifi 250 AB in an effort to "keep the bench fresh." Okay I take it back, we have no chance. I give up.
