The Sox would be in the World Series without those awful calls in the ALCS, and would likely still be leading the Series without the HBP Dye call. But still, the umps have been pathetically awful in the playoffs - these are the best baseball can offer?

I don't know if the WSox would still be in the WSeries, had it not been for Eddings in Game 2. Remember the WSox had lost Game 1 with a lackluster effort, and then rebounded with another subpar offensive performance with 1 run before the incident. It's an arguable point, but if Eddings holds the call, and AJ is call out, the Angels may have won the game, and the series. So, I don't know if the Sox would had made the Series, if Eddings got the call right.

One thing to remember in that game 2 though is Buehrle was prepared to go a 10th inning while the Angels used up Donnely, Shields, and Escobar after that inning. So all they had left was Franky Rodriguez and he has been inconsistent the whole post-season and is usually only a 1 inning guy.

No, not really. He's never been a 1-inning guy in the playoffs.
