I found this nugget while perusing a Rob Neyer article this morning.

A.J.ski at the Bat

The outlook wasn't brilliant for the Angel nine that night,

Jarrod Washburn battled strep, and Vladdy wasn't right.

But when the bullpen came up strong and Quinlan took one deep,

It seemed the Angel offense might awaken from its sleep.

They thought if we could only push this game into the tenth,

Well, surely then we'd show the Sox our real offensive strength.

Though Escobar was wearing down, the Angels left him in,

To try and battle through the ninth and earn his team a win.

The first man up was Everett, who furiously cursed,

When on an oh-and-one count, he grounded out to first.

The second man was Rowand, who fell back in the count,

Then vigorously swung, and missed by quite a large amount.

With two men out and no one on, the White Sox sensed their fate,

As ol' A.J. Pierzynski dragged himself up to the plate.

And with the count at three-and-two, Escobar went to throw,

And then the air was shattered by the force of A.J.'s blow.

O somewhere in this nation, games go far into the night,

The crowd is cheering somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light,

And somewhere innings end, when scrub catchers catch the ball,

But there was no joy in Orangeville, Doug Eddings blew the call.

Some guy on sports talk radio made a song out of that. It had a nice melody and sound to it (unlike the songs those Nazi twins have).

Awesome poem.

Something tells me those nazi girls are the product of parents desperate for attention.
