Cards vs. Stros - who are you rooting for?

I know we have a discussion going on in the Baseball Discussions forum, but I just wanted to get a tally of how many people are rooting for each team. So... cast your vote!

Although if the Cardinals DO win it all this year, maybe they'll have to get rid of all their 'hotshots' & we won't have to hear about how 'amazing' they are..

I am pretty neutral but if you make me pick one I will take the Cardinals just because STL is a better baseball town than Houston.

I'm in the Cards camp for this one. I don't like either of them especially, but I do like Pujols. If the Cubs can't win at all, and Tim Wakefield can't win it all then I'd settle for Albert claiming it.

Cardinals here, though I'm not really watching the games. :oops: I have a short list as to why I would like the Cardinals to win the NLCS, and the WS:

 

- They have played good baseball - heck, phenomenal baseball - for the past two seasons. I want to see a team who was GREAT all during the regular season get in, rather than some WC team that squeaked in as a consolation berth. As a matter of fact, I think the best team in either league should have an automatic berth to the championship series - they earned it. But, that's another discussion.

 

- I am thoroughly disgusted with this year's Cubs - players and coaching staff, and front office - with a few notable exceptions (here's a hint as to who I DO like: I'd like to give Z 35 packs of Bazooka chewing gum - one for each of his appearances). I'm not sure whether these mercenaries with a baseball bat care about things like civic pride or fans, but in the event that they do, I'm hoping that the Cards winning and the Sox going deep into the playoffs lights a fire under them for '05.

 

- As much as I think Busch Stadium is an artless piece of dung, it was the first place I saw a game in. And the Cards winning the WS in the last game of their own stadium appeals to me. But I won't be listing to Joe Buck drooling all over himself about it.

I think it'd be amusing seeing the trash at the Cell running onto the field (TM WhiteSox Fans many years) as much more of an artistic view than Busch Stadium.
