Taking out the world's greatest pitching coach can't help the team.

Blaine Boyer was standing a few feet from the pitching coach when it happened.

 

"I probably could have caught it if I knew it was coming," the rookie reliever said. "It smoked him, right in the head. It hit him hard, and he hit the ground. I was like, 'He's dead.'
