The Zen Garden at Pringles Park

On August 31, 2005, Baseball America wrote about something at Pringles Park in their Daily Dish that few knew existed. Behind the right field wall is "The Zen Garden", created by the bullpen of the Huntsville Stars.

 

On September 9th I went behind the right field wall to see it for myself. While there I took several pictures which I have posted. If you would like to read the BA article on the garden, click here.

 

The garden is very unique and unlike anything that I have ever seen, from the use of bats to using baseballs to make designs. You can tell from the pictures that many relief pitchers have signed their names and messages on the rocks in the garden. There is also a Sharpie left in the garden for other players to add to the garden. I hope you enjoy!

Agreed, I did not expect what I found. In case you can't tell, the star is made of buried baseballs and that is a real pitching rubber buried in the garden. Although I didn't count to see which movie had the most phrases, there were several quotes from Bull Durham.

I saw the garden the last Jaxx game I went to. I never thought I had seen it before, so I started asking around to make sure I wasn't seeing things!

I was in the stands the series it was built. I remember asking why guys were filling buckets with rocks during the game. It's something else!
