By the way, several of my players have been released... go get 'em! I guess I have a matchup this week with someone, but I fold... I'm in fantasy football mode now.

I popped in on the Cards board last night and was following Uncle Buck's/All American's thread. I couldn't believe the luck of his scrub pitchers, but in the end on the Cleveland/Minnesota game, it was crazy!

He needed Sizemore and Lecroy to score three runs between them and to have Silva not get one K. So Silva, who's been a good pitcher all year, gets shelled and taken out after the first inning (with no Ks) and Juan Rincon didn't even come into the game with the merry go round of pitchers they were throwing out there! I've never seen anyone have that kind of luck!

I feel bad about the waiver thing. That was pretty cheap. I'll definitely change it next year.

PLZ nobody pick up Truffle's players. That's cheap.

What if I promise to only use them against Vance?

You're not going to face Vance.

Ha Ha. Gotcha :)

As commish, you could put a stay on all waiver claims. I'd have no problem with freezing rosters.

I locked all managers from the add/drop players function. If someone has a player go on the DL, I'll unlock it so they can replace him though.

Why change the rules now? I say if people were able to use the add/drop loophole to win in the first round of the playoffs, you should just be consistent and let people do that the rest of the way. If you're going to change the rules, make it for next year... at least that's my opinion on the matter.

Because you dropped some very effective players like Varitek, Utley, Berkman, Lidge, Zito, and Wickman. Whoever of the remaining teams who is higher on the waiver priority list would have an extremely unfair advantage. The teams that made it this far made it because they had good teams, but now someone could pick those guys up and win with players that were only available because a semi-cheap move that someone pulled on you.

You're eliminated, so the players on your team are eliminated too. It's the best alternative I could think of. I'll fix it next year.

I would argue that point

Wolf, I think you did the right thing.

Truffle. your team was the one I feared the most. After you kicked my butt about a month ago I wanted nuthin to do with your team. I look forward to locking horns next year.

I'll do it again next year if the rules are different or if everyone makes a gentlemen's agreement not to use the add/drop loophole to their advantage in the playoffs. I feel kind of like I do when I take two bad beats in a row to get knocked out a poker tournament. I know I played it the right way and should have won, but just got unlucky.

As for my drops, if it's possible you can open up the add/drops to just me and I'll pick those guys up and stick them on my bench. Then you can open up the add/drops for the rest of the playoffs to keep the rules consistent all the way through.

There was really no good way around this problem. Uncle Buck played by the rules that were avaiable. It wasn't technically cheating, and it was quite resourceful.

Truffle got burned and so he responded by releasing his players. That caused an even greater problem because it created more talent in the pool. I don't have a problem playing with the roster I have now, but I did put in claims for some of the players. (I've since withdrawn those.)

However, some of those players might have helped me since Drew, Ramirez, and Sheets are out for me.

Actually I did it because it's not technically against the rules

I had put in a claim for three of them too. :)

I put claims on all of them :)

Yeah, you definitely got rivered by Buck. You didn't deserve to lose.

Yeah, I was gonna say that he had an ace up his sleeve, but Rick Helling, Paul Maholm, Tim Wakefield and Brandon Claussen hardly qualify as aces. More like he had 7-2 offsuit up his sleeve and made a set of deuces on the river.

Thanks to a hell of an effort by Zambrano (my team) beating Carpenter (Thrillride) I tied up the wins category to move into the championship game. I need a great week by Lee and Vlad to lead my injury ravaged team to the championship.
