Ugh, error on the play costs the Jaxx a run, 2-2 game

2 E's in the inning and the winning run is on 3rd.

Let's go Shipman!!!!!!!!

When he says they want Pie to get time in before the playoffs start does that mean that they want him to get some time in before the playoffs and then go to Chicago or does he mean that they want Pie to get ABs leading into his play in the SL playoffs?
I interpreted the comments to mean they want him to get sone at-bats to shake off the rust heading into the Southern League playoffs. Hopefully that's not just wishful thinking. Maybe you can ask Ron to clarify that on Friday.

Pretty impressive outing for Wells.

CUBS GET EVEN WITH CARDS IN 9-0 WIN

Daytona Made A Statement Early With a Seven-Run First Inning and Palm Beach Never Bounced Back

By Bo Fulginiti

JUPITER, Fla—Palm Beach may have landed the first knockdown punch of the series on Monday, but it didn’t take long for Daytona to rise from the canvas and answer the bell for Round 2 on Tuesday night.

In the second game of a three-game set at Roger Dean Stadium, the Cubs and Cardinals waited out a rainstorm that delayed the start of the game one hour and 15 minutes. It was soon after the clouds parted when Daytona then erupted for a seven-run first inning that put the game out of reach before Palm Beach ever batted, as the Cubs cruised to the win by a final of 9-0.

Daytona third baseman Scott Moore sparked the first inning surge with a two-RBI double, as the Cubs batted around and knocked Cardinals starter Dennis Dove (2-4) out of the game just two outs into the contest.

Meanwhile Cubs starter Randy Wells (9-2) was sensational, as the right-hander went seven innings of two-hit shutout ball and struck out six, as he notched the win and lowered his ERA to 2.91.

The Cubs offensive was led by both shortstop Carlos Rojas who went 4-for-5 with four singles and two runs scored, and the aforementioned Moore who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBI’s.

The Game 2 Cubs victory evened the series at 1-1 as Daytona improved to 28-29, while the Cardinals fell to 35-24. The two teams will finish up the series on Wednesday at “The Dean” as the Cubs send lefty Chris Shaver (2-2, 2.25 ERA) to square off against Cardinals southpaw Oscar Alvarez (2-0, 1.88 ERA).

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. EST.

I expect both to start the season in Peoria. Good to see another good start out of Donald (or Donnie) up in Boise, despite the control.

I've been hoping he'd finish up the Boise season well. He's another I'd like to see in Peoria next season.
