I believe a radio station (KEZK I think) here in St. Louis is having some sort of contest where if you win you will get to push the button to implode Busch. I not sure of the specifics or what the contest will be. Anybody out there residing in the St. Louis area know anything about this? A CUBS fan needs to win this if it is true. That would be something to show up to push the button wearing a CUBS jersey.

I would love nothing more than to say I pushed the destruction button of Busch Stadium. Like that Old Milwuakee commercial "It just does'nt get any better than this"

Tickets are $10 and will be sold (I believe) until 10 days after the season. They'll draw 250 winners to go to an implosion party where the winner will be randomly selected.

Yes, I would love for a Cub fan to win this!

That would be terrific! Oh man would I love to blow that place up.

EDIT: Please FBI don't kill me.

The chances are slim that I will win, but I'm going to give it a shot. To show up as CUBS fan to blow up Busch. Thats a dream come true. Any CUBS fans in the St. Louis area should be jumping at a chance to take down Busch.

From what I've read the stadium will be blown up 20 days after the final game is played. You have to remember that all of the seats from the park have been sold and they'll need a chance to get all of them out as well as anything else that they plan to keep/donate/auction for charity. They money raised from the opportunity to blow up the stadium will go to Cardinals Care and the United Way.

Good, even if I don't win my money will go to a good cause. BTW where are you getting this info? I looked on the radio stations web site and found no info.

Looks like I'm out:

Luck is not the only requirement to becoming the Cardinals' ultimate closer. Only residents of Missouri or Illinois are eligible. And no kids, either - participants must be 18 or older.

Then go ahead and say it. A week after it happens, who'll know/ remember the person's name?

Who cares if anybody remembers the person's name. I just think it would be neat to be the person to do it, especially being a CUBS fan.

I'm a resident of Florida (stationed there for 11 years USAF) I wonder if military are exempt from the residency restriction.

Man, that is the same idea that I had when I heard about it on Friday. What you do is to wear your CUBS Jersey under another shirt. Go to the party. When they pick out your name, you go go walking out to the button as you take off your outer shirt to reveal a CUBS jersey. Could you imagine the ridicule? Could you imagine the headlines? "CUBS finally blow up Busch!" That would be awesome. Too bad I do not live in MO or ILL. I would definitely try for it...
