NSBB Survival Football and College Football Pick'em

I've created NSBB leagues on Yahoo for both Survival Football and College Football Pick'em. Signup information is as follows:

For those not familiar with Survival Football, you pick one NFL team to win each week. If your team wins, you remain in the game. If your team loses, you're voted off the island. The catch is that you can only pick a team once in the entire game. The game ends once there is only one contestant still alive. In the event all remaining contestants are eliminated the same week, they are co-champions; there are no tiebreakers. If the game ends with several weeks remaining in the NFL season the game can be reset and we can start off fresh with another round (that happened in our league last year).

Agreed. You pick one freaking game as opposed to all 16 or so like in the other league and we have about 3 times the participation in the Pro Pick em.

Good idea posting a link; I forgot to do that when I started this thread. Here is a link for the College Football Pick'em contest. Both games can also be accessed from Yahoo's fantasy sports home page. They're listed under Other Games.

The college contest begins with this Saturday's games, so not much time left to join and get your picks in (I believe you can still join after the contest begins, but you will be in a hole). Still another week to go before the pro games begin.

wow, i totally spaced on that this year. i was so busy with the cubs playoff run

We may be starting a new round of Survival Football sooner rather than later. After one week it will already be down to 4 or 5 players still alive. 9 players have already been eliminated (4 didn't get their picks in by the early deadline and 5 picked teams that lost today), 4 players picked teams that won, and 1 player picked Philadelphia in the Monday night game.

After just one week the 14 Survival Football participants are already down to the Final Four. Six contestants were eliminated due to incorrect picks (most picking St. Louis over San Francisco) and four people missed the early deadline due to the Thursday night game. At this rate we may be starting a new round sooner rather than later.

Turns out it didnt' matter that I missed the deadline, as I would've been one of the STL vs. SF casualties in Week 1

Yep; since the first week's carnage, only one more team has been eliminated. And that person deserved to be eliminated, since he had the gall to pick the Lions over the Bears. :D

After this week there will be at most two people remaining alive in Survival Football. One of the final three, Bender Bending Rodriguez, didn't get a pick in before the deadline and is therefore finished.
