You'll never see Matsui go to the plate trying to swing hard for the fences.

The guy always makes solid contact someplace. With RISP, hes gold.

He'll hit homers sure, but its a result of his contact, not his hard pre-planned swinging ala Sosa/Burnitz.

Just to continue the thought that Matsui isn't the remarkable player it seems you think he is, Burrell - with 118 K's - has better RISP numbers than Matsui.

Which means nothing.

The Yankees need a CF badly to get either of those players im guessing there is no way they would do a deal withoug Pie being involved in it. They dont need a 1b they have Giambi signed for a long time so It would take more the Dopriak.

and not amusing.

Wow again. Sorry, Officer.

Wasn't meant to be rude or degrading to RynoRules, and is he (she?) took it that way, my apologies. But there's not a GM in any league, major leagues to fantasy leagues, who would make that trade.

Just you, indeed.

I thought your response was abrupt and belittling, but since I try not to reply to personal attacks (as I believe to do so only encourages more of them), I chose not to flame back at you.

Abrupt and belittling?

Well, for what its worth, I didn't read it as any kind of personal attack on you, as insulting to you or disparaging to Hendry. Any time "pantsing" is suggested between GMs in a post, I don't generally take it very seriously.

Oh, sorry. I thought the rule around here was to attack thepost and not the poster. Thus, say the Yanks wouldn't do the deal, instead of "Just you...", which is a clear reference to and insult directed at the poster (yours truly).

In any case, I put the A Rod thing out there as an idea. Folks don't agree? Hey - that's just life in the Big City, and may be you guys are correct, and I am not.

I thought when you referenced "I thought your response", that you were talking about the original comment with respect to Hendry pantsing Cashman and that nobody would deal with him again.

I think this whole thing is silly because it started from something that didn't seem remotely insulting to me. I was just trying to convey that someone at arm's length didn't read it as insulting.

Seems like this whole thing is a bunch of miscommunications.

In any case, I think Big Stein prefers broken down picthers over the age of 30. Thus, Wood does not fit the bill.

i would rather see the cubs sign johnny damon. he is exactly what they need. plays hard. good defense and a true lead off hitter. the only drawback is that it might be tough to have damon and murton on the corner outfield spot. the defense would be good but not a whole lot of pop. i would think you would have to sign nomar back(which is a huge gamble) to make up for the power.

You're right about that outfield lacking power. At least one of the corner outfielders needs some. Not a lot of options though. And counting on Murton is a BIG "if"

Moreover, while Damon gets to a lot of balls, he has a popgun arm; and according to Dusty, so does Murton.

Still, I could live w/ Damon and Murton in CF and LF.
