Gotta love that the manager and general manager aren't on the same page. Didn't Dusty just say yesterday that it might be an option having Wood start again?

Baker can't really afford to have too many examples of he and Hendry not being on the same page.

maybe start him but take him out after 2 innings. that way he gets warmed up before the game and only pitches 2 innings.

Have to agree here, not good for the team to have them not on the same page. But, could be good for us in the Dusty leaving issue.

According to Dusty, he's thinking about Wood going back to the rotation "all the time." Unfortunately, he's not ready to throw the towel in yet.

Shut him down. Have the surgery now. Get ready for next year.

Agreed.

I also agree that they should shut him down. I do have to say though that even if he is shut down tomorrow and has surgery he probably won't be ready for spring training. This is the Cubs we are talking about. We'll pin our hopes on wood coming back and having a strong year ala Matt Morris, and something will happen that he can't start until the end of May. By that time 1-2 of our other starters will be hurt. It's just the way it is.

Give him 3 innings on Saturday after Williams gets knoced out in the 4th.

Why? It's not like he's some bubble player who may or may not be able to make it as a starter. We know what Wood can do as a starter when healthy, let him have the surgery and start rehabbing as a starter so he can get back in the rotation ASAP next year.

To showcase him for a trade. I don't want to allocate $12 million to a guy who's most likely on the DL by May of next year.

I think you're more likely to hurt him further than improve another team's view on him by stretching him out for 2-3 starts.
