The 19 year old Mariner - Felix Hernandez - records his first win with a nice line against the Twins:

8 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K

This kid could be the real deal. Consistent 96-97 mph fastball with a wicked slider and some nice offspeed stuff.

Put him and Zach Duke on your team and you have quite a start.

Thanks for reminding me that I forgot to put him in my fantasy lineup. :X

He threw first pitch strikes to 20 of the 29 he faced. I knew I should have driven to this game!

Dustin McGowan of the Angel Guzman vs. Dustin McGowan debates picked up his first win today too.

I was at the game yesterday. All I can say is holy cow. Man, he completely dominated the Twins and made them look like minor leaguers. They only hit the ball hard off of him a couple of times and I don't remember a ball even reaching the warning track. I was checking the radar after almost every single pitch and only saw 96 or 97 for his fastballs. He also looked really really good defensively. He made 4-5 really nice plays on comebackers. He did get into one or two jams but that was really when he came through. He is really a special pitcher and sure looked like the real deal to me.
