Should Nomar bat 2nd or 6th?? I'd rather go w/ Walker batting 2nd for a while and let Nomar work the kinks out at the 6th spot. It's not like he could do much worse than Hollandworth.

My lineup would be:

1. 2B-Walker

2. CF-Hairston

3. 1B-Lee

4. 3B-Ramirez

5. RF-Burnitz

6. SS-Garciaparra

7. LF-Murton

8. C-Barrett

Hairston/Walker and Barrett/Murton being interchangable...meaning I wouldn't mind Hairston #1 and Walker #2 (which is what would happen), either.

I like that lineup, however, I highly doubt the "manager" will start Murton.

I think we need that posted in every single thread in every forum.

Jul 27 The Chicago Tribune reports Chicago Cubs MAN Dusty Baker told reporters there should be no assumptions that Cubs SS Nomar Garciaparra (groin) will get his starting job back when healthy. "Nothing is automatic," Baker said. "We'll have to see how Nomar is doing. Neifi Perez says he realized when he came here that he came here as a utility guy. But he hasn't remained a utility guy with what he has done. I hear a lot of people say, 'Hey, put Ronny Cedeno in.' What am I supposed to do, push Neifi out now? This guy has saved us.

Ronny Cedeno or any other rookie would certainly have been benched if they put up numbers like Neifi's, but when a veteran does it the guy "has saved us" and we don't dare push him out of the starting lineup. This is as extreme a double standard as I've ever seen in sports.
