The man was just DFA'd by the Yankees a couple days ago... and it occured to me he could be a perfect fit for this club.

 

Career line of .264/.348/.374

 

While that's not exactly amazing, it's certainly acceptible. He can play shortstop if we really need him to, but he's really good manning first, third, or second.

 

Not to mention he hits right handed, which could come in handy considering how many freakin lefties we have.

 

At the very least, he's the answer to the question:

 

"Is there any possible way to get rid of Jose Macias?"

True, he would be an upgrade over Macias. Johnson can play first, third, and I believe the outfield as well. Although, if I'm not mistaken, wasn't he playing at Iowa last year or the year before?

Well, that certainly would explain why his name caught my attention... cause I had no idea where I'd heard it before.
