I'm curious why Rolen isn't being given time to rest his shoulder. He is to undergo a strength test on his surgically repaired shoulder today. I don't get it. The Cards have a 13 game lead so why not take advantage of it and DL Rolen for 15 days to get him ready for September and, more importantly, October? With their starting pitching they shouldn't collapse (I wish they would) even with Molina, Sanders and Rolen (if they DL him) on the DL. I don't get it.

Yep I dont get it either. I never agreed with him coming back when he did. He shoulda went to rehab aswell. Oh well. I dont like this. I think the Cards could put out any lineup out there and the division wouldnt matter. I'd rather have them healthy in October. Rolen should still be on the DL but hey, what do I know?

The reports I'm hearing are that rest isn't what his shoulder needs. He needs to build up the strength of the shoulder. TLR says that his D is enough of a reason for him to stay in the everyday lineup. He also had the key hit in yesterday's game.

Reggie going on the DL hurts because Mabry will get more starts in the OF instead of being able to spell Rolen. The Cards are kinda beat up right now, so the nagging injuries are going to have to be played through.

I'd like to see Nunez get more playing time and it makes sense for him to spell Rolen at 3rd with Mabry and Taguchi being the primary outfield backups.
