Joey Gathright?

My friend tells me that the Cubs have worked a deal with Tampa Bay and a trade for CF Joey Gathright could happen soon. He has major speed and could probably compete for playing time in CF. Has anyone else heard this?

No offense, but how legit is your friend's information? Where did they hear this from? There are often a lot of crazy rumors around that have no ground to them.

Fastest guy in the league. He's got decent patience at the plate as well. Tampa probably would ask for Prior for him though.

Not gonna happen, Dusty wouldn't play him anyways. Gaithright is cheap and good, something that suits TB's owners all the way around.

I still think Crawford is a possibility if Jim is willing to give up the prospects. I know he struggles with his OBP a little, but he is a very effective leadoff man, so why not as long as they are not asking for Pie.
