Sullivan has a nice article pointing out what is obvious to everyone but Dusty.

Does anyone think that Dusty will ever get it? Or is he just stubborn?

Hairston sounds like he is rather frustrated and will not be coming back next year. I don't blame him.

I just remembered about hearing that Dusty insinuated he was very unhappy in Chicago during the offseason. Perhaps he is trying to get fired. I'd like to believe that no manager is dense enough to do what he has been doing, but somehow I think Dusty actually is. It's just a litany of the insanely stupid.

Overhearing the interview at an adjoining locker, Aramis Ramirez offered his third base job to Hairston. Hairston laughed, although he did say he was willing to play left field if Baker was interested.

Baker is not interested, saying it was the most difficult outfield position to learn. Hairston said he played it last year in Baltimore and had no problem.

This was my favorite quote from the article. I guess based on Dusty's comment, this makes Dave Kingman and Keith Moreland freakin geniuses. I must have conveniently forgotten all their Gold Gloves in my pondering of recent Cubs history. Left field has always been where we stashed an extra bat with hands of stone. So I guess any new acquisition we may get (i.e Dunn or Huff) will have to wait until next season so they have ample time in the early season to acclimate themselves with the intracies of left fieild at Wrigley. ](*,)

Why is it Chicago always gets stuck with the most stubborn, oblivious managers/coaches (see Dick Jauron and his man crush on James Allen). Wake me in 2007 when we have a manager who can see past his nose.

How Dusty still has a job is beyond me.

And we have to live with him, you can just point and laugh
