Ricky Nolasco gets a CG 4 hitter (103 pitches) as the Jaxx win 14-1!

Time to give him another shot at Triple-A?

Maybe after the All-Star Game

It appears that the Smokies were as ready for the fireworks as the fans.

My goodness that was terrible. Obviously, I left in the middle of the game (after EPatt's 3rd AB when it was 15-0). Johnson just had nothing, as you can see from Serena's PBP, especially considering he retired one batter on a great diving catch by Fuld and got his 6th and final out on a pickoff. The radar gun was worthless. Fuld's catch in the 1st was very nice, but the defense was downhill from there. EPatt had a throwing error on a play in which he ranged very far to his left but threw the ball wide to first. Rick tried to prevent it from going into the dugout, but he couldn't stop his slide before touching the top step, so the runner from first scored and the batter was awarded third. Simokaitis looked to have very nice range despite there being all of about three ground balls. Eric has pretty nice bat speed and his swing is pretty level. Harvey has a powerful swing but went down swinging in his first AB at a ball in the dirt. Both Harvey and Montanez made nice running catches.

Got there at 4:00 and the tarp was on the field. I watched Blevins and another pitcher throw in the 'pen. Obviously no BP (which did not make me happy). Then the rain delay. I saw just one Chiefs hit and I believe 18 Cougars hits...through 5 and a half. I must say that it was weird to be able to watch up to 6 different fireworks shows at the same time while on I-88 and I-294.

And it sucks that I missed a Harvey bomb...

I'll have pictures and even video of Johnson warming up later.

Wow. According to the Chiefs website, that was the worst loss in Chiefs franchise history. 21-2.

Aaron Smith (3B/RP) - Smith doubled and scored in the 8th and then pitched the bottom of the 8th for the Chiefs. Smith allowed one hit then got a flyout and a double play to end the inning. He was the only Chiefs pitcher on the night not to allow a run.

Aaron Smith is one of my personal favorites. :)

Stupid server wouldn't let me login. Anyways, here are the pics. Some are of decent quality, others are poor. I have a bunch of other poor pics that I may try to fix up later.

Eric Patterson signing autographs before the game (thanks to me, by the way. I waited a long time by the railing for Eric to come out of the clubhouse and into the dugout. I yelled over to him and asked if he could sign a few autographs because there were other people waiting in the rain for over an hour with me. He seemed happy to. Nice guy.):

LOL, I stayed for the entire 9 innings of beatdown. Fuld diving Catch was great, Patterson looked sweet getting to that grounder but than threw it away. I called the Harvey bomb also, but I said it would go over the Bud sign (which would have to have been an impossible BOMB) but it was still awesome to see (2 Chief games, 2 harvey bombs.) Johnson was dissapointing but the Cougars were smacking every pitcher around.

When did you get there? That's one long day.

Yeah, Patterson showed pretty good range just to get to that ball. The leadoff HR off of Johnson was a bomb. Well over the scoreboard in left. Really rough outing. I'll blame the mound conditions. Someone forgot to cover up the bullpen mound until about 5:45, so it was terrible when Johnson was warming up.

What inning was the Harvey HR?

I think we got there at 4:30 and left at 10:30. The Harvey home run was in the 6th, right after you left :(

Is the one video you are refering not directly related to the game, because I can think of something that happened on the field that would be funny to see again.

ARGH. Of course it was right after I left. The 9-1-2 spots were due up in the 5th and I wanted to see one more AB from Eric and Harvey. Eric popped up to end the inning and I agreed to go instead of waiting through what could have been another 25 minute half-inning. DANGIT.

No, they're both of the game. One is of Johnson pitching during the game, but I was sitting far away and the quality isn't good. The other video clip is up close footage of Johnson warming up. Turned out pretty good.

Oh, I'm not sure it may have been after you left... Did you see the Chief coach (not sure which one) have the dance off with the "Zooperstar" thing. He pulled off a back flip

Yeah, I did. I don't think it was a coach, though. The guy was wearing Alberto Garcia's jersey, so he was probably an outsider. He did look old, though, so I'm not sure. And man could that guy shake it.

Ok, it was probably a bit than, but he was still old and doing a back flip so he gets some respect from me.

Drew Larsen also had a bad night in the field. According to MILB.com's box he only had one Error, but at the park he was charged with 2 (might have been chagned later) and I think he should have had a 3rd.

The Zooperstars rule! Was Harry Canary there?

Yep and he sang the 7th inning stretch.

ha ha, good times. My favorite was when Clammy Sosa ate a kid dressed as a batboy.
