Huntsville will be starting LHP Manny Parra (5-5 3.41) against the Diamond Jaxx. First place in the Northern Division is on the line at Pringles Park tonight and into the weekend.

BTW, George Jones (country music legend) will be at Pringles Park on Friday night. Hopefully, I can get him to get on the air with me for a half an inning.

Wow, nice line from John. Is there any chance that we might be able to use him as trade bait? If he puts up another couple of good lines, I wouldn't mind seeing what sort of value we could get for him. He probably isn't going to be a starter in the majors for us and teams might like the fact that he has some major league experience.

Theriot should get snubbed from the All Star game every day. He went 3 for 5 with an RBI and 2 RS tonight. Greenberg followed him by going 3 for 4 with a walk, 3 RBIs, and 2 triples.

And yes, a very strange line for Marmol. O'Malley got smacked around in relief but picked up the win. Aardsma pitched a perfect 9th to save the 9-6 win.

DJAXX will trade a gift certificate of the recipient's choice for an autographed baseball from George.

Unfortunately it looks like I won't be able to go to the game tomorrow.

Simokaitis waiting for his first hit.

I didn't listen to the game, but Grant Johnson was interviewed on the pre-game show. Sounds like everyone he knows will be going to Kane County to see him pitch on Monday. He said locating the fastball and getting his slider working well was the secret to success yesterday.

SP C. Marmol 2.1 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 2/5

Marmol got smacked around with 5 BBs and 3 hits in 2.1 IP...yet only gave up one run.

Color me impressed.

DiamondJaxx.com[/url]"]Ryan O'Malley (3-0) picked up the win in relief of starting pitcher Carlos Marmol, who left the game in the third inning with an undisclosed injury. O'Malley pitched in 3 1/3 innings of relief.

I would laugh if JH was somehow able to trade him back to Cincy in a package for one of their coveted outfielders. :D

Early word is that Marmol got sick during the course of the game.
WHEW. Good to hear that it wasn't another Cubs pitcher going down with an injury. We have enough of those already.

Thanks for the update!

Hopefully he is the last person to get sick on this team. If everybody drinks plenty of water, there won't be any more problems.

Guys need to drink plenty of water because it is REALLY HOT down here.. mid 90's with a heat index above 100.

Truffle, would that be a picture of the world famous Jessica Alba?? I loved here in the short-lived sci-fi series she was in a couple years ago..

Nope, this is Jessica Alba:

and this is Josie Maran:

They certainly are similar... the difference being, of course, that one is simply hot, while the other is the hottest woman in the universe.

Jessica Alba > Josie Maran. Jessica Alba lives in the city next to me (Pasadena) and her brother and boyfriend go to UCLA. And she's hotter than Josie.

Thank goodness Carlos Marmol is just sick, hopefully the whole team hydrates themselves better than Carlos Zambrano does.
