I really dont want to see these kids moved because Happ and Suzuki has no trades the next 2-3 years and along with Hoerner and Swanson being under contract, so this group of prospects that are ready are blocked and we're watching them excel for another team the next 10 years.

 

I agree they need to get a solid major league ballplayer back and have some control over that player. I don’t have any issue with them not trading Happ, Suzuki, Hoerner or Swanson to put a rookie in their place. It is time to use that minor league talent as assets. Trade whatever you need to trade to bring proven talent in. I think some people put way too much emphasis on replacing very good players with a rookie and assume that will make the team better. I would have no issue with packaging a few of the Cubs top 10 prospects for either proven pitcher (Gilbert, as an example) with some control in his contract or a big bat like Tucker or Vlad, provided they sign an extension. The time to trade the prospects is now.
