It is, but Columbus got the younger (and cheaper) winger in the deal. Rumor is that Marchenko wanted out when Bowness asked him to toughen up

Toronto got the better player that didn’t want to sign in Columbus while the Blur Jackets got the younger player who is actually signed longterm, which is a huge advantage for that team. Knies probably doesn’t have the leverage to demand a trade in a couple seasons, but CBJ has to get good in next 2/3 years or that’s going to become an issue again.
