It’s only 4 years though and 8% of the cap for a team with a ton of cap space. He’ll be gone before their rising D start getting paid.

That’s a fascinating move I think somebody was going to do with Bedard before he got hurt. It makes a ton of sense. Chicago should do the same with Robertson. You’d be lucky to ever replicate the production of one star over 4 drafts. If you’re picking 15 every year you hope those guys can eat NHL minutes
