Dawson asks Cooperstown to put Cubs hat on his plaque

Is this something you care about? The Hawk wants to be enshrined as a Cub. He was obviously better with the Expos but given how they're now a remnant of history, wonder what his driving motivation is here.

I'm pretty sure it was well-known he wanted to go in as a Cub at the time but the Hall of Fame had final say.

I'm sure he feels more connected to Cubs fans, not least because the Expos no longer exist. Wouldn't be surprised if he had bitter feelings about the way his Expos time ended as well.

I don't care about this one way or another and I think Dawson is probably the only person it really matters to.  It would be nice for the Hall of Fame to consider his wishes, but I suspect this is a can of worms they really don't want to open.
