HR #5  for Valdez gives him as many HRs as any 17 YO’s hit in the org (Hernandez 2021, Candelario 2011) since the 2010s. He’s done it in 79 PAs to their 191 (~40%) and 305 (~25%) respectively, and with all the bells and whistles on a modern first division hitter if you can forgive a 17 YO for some Ks around an otherwise just excellent performance so far 

Pretty riveting, this time next year he’ll be a much bigger name. Tbh I’m not too worried about calling him a Top 10 prospect in the org rn let alone after some TDL housecleaning (fingercrossed) 

Nice to hear.

I feel like it's been awhile since the Cubs had that stud international prospect like a Gleyber or Eloy.

HHopefully this kid is in that mold.
