Mills gives up 3 on 8 hits over three innings. No walks and 5 k. 62 pitches/42 strikes

Riley Thompson shoves, now has 17 strikeouts to only 2 walks in nine innings on the season. Groundball rate north of 50%

 

The video game numbers will subside for these guys when they start being asked to routinely work 5+, but hot damn some of our guys are killing it right now

Hodge with another effective game, 5 shutout innings, no walks, although a modest 4K. 5 innings isn't Cubs-normal yet; he did that because it took him only 65 pitches. He turned 21 in February, so he's not super young, but he's also a big guy who might possibly have been improving his stuff?

 

I'll be curious to get a little more scouting info on whether his stuff has big-league possibilities, or he's just getting by due to facing A- hitter.
