Even with the huge difference in competition between AAA and MLB, this was still unexpected:

Shelby Miller - 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K.

I mean, make up your mind, Shelby...

Iowa 3 outs away from a combined no-hitter.

They did it:

5 Ks and a popup in two perfect innings from Wieck

uhhhhh ed howard seems to be striking out a lot.

12/22 for Howard, 10/16 for Nwogu.

Yeah the MB lineup is getting absolutely worked right now.

The more advanced guys are all really handling the strikezone well. Roederer has as more BBs than Ks, Strumpf and Amaya have equal numbers of both. Even Chris Morel, who's very much a free swinger, only has 3 KS in 22 PAs. A good week for the guys who have a path to Wrigley in the next ~15 months, and we should add Brennen Davis back likely this week.

Tbf Howard’s seen double digit pitchers so far and all but one are 3-7(!) years older than him this year. At least a few will be out of the level by summer, a couple of those probably could/should have been in High A already (Doxakis, Wilcox, White). The youngest pitcher he’s seen was drafted in 2018

Nwogu’s a little more worrisome. Under the old format he might have been in Eugene this year after the AZL last year but neither could happen

Yep, far more concerned about Nwogu - especially with the concerns surrounding his swing coming out of college.
