Was there really zero trade value for this guy?

I remember rumor the Bears were interested, but Cincy was holding out for a higher pick. I want to say it was like 4th v 5rh rounder, but that could have been future/conditional.

With the teams like Car that signed guys and NE apparently happy to just go with their guys, I guess there wasn't much of a market.

Jags decline Fournette's 5th year option, 49ers and Titans decline options for Thomas and Davis...So, if the Bears decline Mitch, we're looking at 4/5 of the top 2017 draft's top 5 with the other guy maybe driven mad by the league's painkillers and steroids program

J. Clowney is interested in the Jets and at this point it's a good idea. He's been definitelynotcolluded down and the Jets have both money and a sneakily upgraded roster. The Jets' D finished top 10 in either DVOA or DYAR last year mostly thanks to Jamal Adams being a badass. Clowney + a healthy Mosley + Adams behind a talented DL with multiple emerging players (hopefully one is Q. Williams) and good coaching might get them into the top 5

Also allegedly Brett Farve received $1.1 million in Mississippi welfare funds

https://www.sbnation.com/2020/5/5/21248219/brett-favre-welfare-funds-mississippi-ted-dibiase-wwf-heart-of-david

Specifically, Favre Enterprises received two payments: One payment was made in December 2017 for $500,000, while the other happened in June 2018 for the sum of $600,000. According to the audit, those payments would cover the period from July 2017 to July 2018 in which Favre would have spoken at three different events, appear on one radio show, and hold one keynote address. Favre did not attend.

Part of $94 million in misapprpriated funds found in an audit

This was on our local news last night (Kiln, MS is about an hour from here). Supposedly he will face no criminal charges because he did not know the money was from the state fund...or something. He would, however, have to pay the money back. Expect to see Favre doing more Just For Men commercials.

FA is gonna be absolutely ridiculous if the cap is that low in 2021

For all intents the cap is basically play money. If things really are that bad they'll likely just reduce every players pay to get the players revenue share in line and treat the cap as if it hadn't changed. Or actually lower the cap number but come up with some big amnesty thing where you can waive portions of dead cap without cutting players.

Only thing us it will likely require players approval, but a cap cut that drastic will affect most players. So guys will probably get in line after the initial shock that their pay is getting slashed. Maybe they smooth it out against projected cap increases with the new TV deals which will kick in over the next few years.

Even if the Jets won the Superbowl, which they won't, no one would care about the Jets.

Define upside? Because the Cowboys are certainly better than the Jets currently.

Its the nfl thread. No one cares about any team but their own. If Tom wants to post about the Jets, who cares? If you don’t like Tom, ignore him.

But you know Dylan, just gotta cyber creep cuz he’s nothing more then a horsefeathering wanna be Texan anyway.. i guess thats the dick you want to suck too now?

Like, in the offseason? Sure. But the Jets just rolled that draft. Dallas didn’t do horsefeathers except sign Andy Dalton.

(Thats not really true, Dallas had a good draft, but horsefeathers sticking up for the Dallas Cowboys)

Yeah the Cowboys had a really solid draft and some of the talking heads liked their FA during the draft, iirc. I think the Cowboys have a legit chance to be a top 3 NFC team this year. The Jets may be there in the AFC in a few years I suppose. But upside just for this year give me the Cowboys.

Every year: Boys going to the Super Bowl -Espn

Every year: Dallas out EARLY

THIS YEAR IS SURELY DIFFERENT

Some of my best friends in the world are Cowboy fans, cousins who grew up there an who I loved doing stuff with. We agree on two things:

1) horsefeathers gb

2) jerry jones might actually be the issue

“But you know. Screw tom and the fact he likes the jets” - look at me I’m cool, chunky

I think they objectively have a talented roster, what’s happened in past years shouldn’t matter. I literally don’t have a horse in the race, I have no allegiance to an NFL team. I think they have a talented roster and one more talented with more upside than the Jets this year for sure.

Yeah, that's always been my MO here. They call me Junk Sucking Judas. IMB and I are going to be besties from here on out...

I don't like Tom for a whole bunch of reasons. Some are superficial and some are deeper than that. But I can guarantee you that if I posted about my favorite NFL team as unprompted and uninterestingly (apart from the clearly delusional part) as Tom does with his Jets, you would lose your mind about it. We can all practice discretion, and Tom refuses to. If he's allowed to tell us what shampoo Gase is switching to this season, then the least I should be allowed to do is say the Jets are boring and lame and I'd rather hear about CFL goings ons.

Yeah, but that's also because you're a Packers fan; the Jets are a horsefeathering joke.

I can see that, its like the gathering of the juggalos but with less mental capacity

You realize that IMB used to only converse with me with the same "totally normal behavior" stuff as recently as this winter, right? If we are agreeing on something, it just means we are right. The Jets are boring AF and so is Tom.

I have no idea why you are going after me now, and I really don't think you ought to be wading into the realm of evaluating others' mental capacities.

That would be one important aspect of it, yes. Parental discretion iz advised.
