I worked for a radio station that carried Cub games when Thom worked for them. There was always one inning late in the game where Santo would be by himself in the booth for the first few minutes, and Ronnie was no play-by-play man so his absence was definitely noticeable. I don't know where he was during that time, but I never really liked the guy so I always assumed he was taking a crap.

The crazy thing about all this.........I mean, it's not THAT big a lead.

With having to play a man down I get why the Reds did this, especially with Wood only going 3 innings.

 

I think he was saying it’s not that big a lead to have one of your best hitters hit from the opposite side of the plate.
