Are people that encouraged by how Mitch is playing? I’m lower on him now than I ever was. The inaccuracy is a big problem and is going to cost the Bears against any team with a pulse. The numbers I’m seeing are more a product of good scheming and coaching by Nagy than Mitch being good.

I do think some of his success is due to good scheming by the coaching staff (but that shouldn't be a knock against him - do you think Mike Glennon is running as successful as an offense? Do you think Jared Goff is lighting it up in a John Fox offense?) and I do think he has some accuracy issues but I think a big part of that is footwork. You see his issues when he's hurried or scrambling. A concern but certainly fixable. He has also made some really really good throws and is starting to go through his progressions better which he wasn't doing earlier in the year (possibly because its a new offense). And then of course the ability to make plays with his feet doesnt make him a better passer but it makes him a better QB as long as he's not scrambling too soon.

I mean Alex Smith isn’t a bad NFL QB by any stretch but they made him look like a legit MVP candidate for a lot of last season. I guess we won’t know for sure until they need a back-up to go in there for extended time. I’m just not encouraged with Mitch, beating a good team with Mitch being the reason why they won might change things for me.

I mean, I know you want the ACTUAL win......but Mitch is a dropped INT and 2 special teams TDs away from beating both GB and New England. We all see the badly missed throws, but it seems like that's all you see and not the great throws (like pretty much every Miller catch yesterday). And the scheme is helping receivers get wide open, but Mitch wasn't even reading them right 5-6 games ago. Nobody is saying he's for sure the guy the next 10-15 years.....but there's absolutely no reason to be down on him. He's still putting up near great numbers despite missing a horsefeathers load of throws.
