Here are the DSL Cubs rosters: https://www.thecubreporter.com/06012018/your-2018-dsl-cubs

Florencio Serrano and Manuel Espinoza are on the restricted list for DSL Cubs 1, likely due to visa issues. Amongst the players who got the biggest bonuses last year, Saul Vazquez, Reivaj Garcia, Alexander Ovalles, Fabian Pertuz and Misael Garcia are also in the DSL. Misael Garcia is the kid who had a growth spurt and a velocity uptick after signing.

AZ Phil has Reivaj Garcia in ExST.

I believe Josue Fernandez, on thr DSL 1 squad, is the youngest player in the org. He was signed this February. He's listed at 6'3" 180 to go with the whole switch hitting CF thing....Please hit!

Man is it weird seeing prospects born in the 2000s. I feel so old (of course, I am old...). You were close on Fernandez. He's 4th youngest. That prize goes to CF Brailin Pena who led off in the DSL2 season opener. He was born May 2nd, 2001. That means a month ago, he was 16! All in all, there are 22 players born in the 2000s on the Dominican squads.

Heck the manager of DSL1 is in his 20s. I'm old...

Christopher Morel drilled an RBI single and a double for the Cubs.

Cubs 2017 6th round draft pick RHP Jeremiah Estrada (Palm Desert HS - Palm Desert, CA) got the start for the Cubs and continued to struggle with command (bouncing pitches in front of home plate and nearly hitting batters), throwing just 51% strikes and walking four in three innings of work. Then he left the game with a right elbow issue while warming up for the bottom of the 4th

And horsefeathers.

Also from the Arizona Phil link:

For anyone who might be interested, the youngest player in the Cubs organization right now is 16-year old Mexican 2B Reivaj Garcia, who will not turn 17 until August. And since he is still at Extended Spring Training (and playing very well I might add), it looks like he will go directly to AZL (skipping DSL). A 16-year old in the AZL? Wow.

Recently signed Venezuelan catcher Pablo Aliendo is the second-youngest player in the Cubs organization (he just turned 17 last Tuesday), but he is presently on the Resricted List (apprarently due to visa issues).

17-year old Mexican SS Luis Verdugo is also still at Extended Spring Training (and playing well) and so he will also very likely skip DSL and (like Garcia) go directly to the AZL. (Verdugo turned 17 last October)

Amaya has an .889 OPS.

I think he's our #1 prospect and he should be on the Top 100 prospect lists.

Maybe Alzolay can still stake a claim as the Cubs top prospect since he’s much closer but I’d agree with both of your assessments.
