Guys:

1) we're playing at Coors.

2) Q and Yu have been excellent for like 2,000 inning combined. A handful of starts doesn't outweigh that.

Being professional pitchers with 2000 innings on their arms is a pretty good argument for perpetually looking for reasons to be concerned about them.

No, no; you see, the Rockies home runs don't count because it's Coors (which I guess means that the measly 3 home runs the Cubs also have hit here so far in this series don't count, too. Sorry, Baez!).

I mean I don’t think that’s what people are saying. It’s just that it’s Coors, pitchers are going to struggle and give up HRs. They all count but there’s some context with them.

Yeah, I wasn’t even saying it was because of Coors. I was saying people were getting really mad at him for giving up two solo shots as his only mistakes of the game.

I’ll take that every outing no matter the stadium.

Maybe I'm too demanding, but I'd prefer a Cubs starter to not only go 5.1 and give up 4 earned runs regardless of the stadium given how the starting rotation has looked thus far.

It literally took a ball to drop that’s caught 99.99999999% of the time for the 4 ERs to happen. If that doesn’t happen he likely goes long since his pitch count is way down and the lead is bigger.

And he probably could have. He was only at 83 pitches.

That’s why noting the four earned runs thing from people watching the game is perplexing. Although to be fair, Almora saved him the other way. Just on the first catch. The second catch he dove simply for the visual.

I guess I'd be curious as to when you think a Cubs starter has actually stunk this year, or if there are always mitigating circumstances. "Just one bad inning, just a bunch of weak contact, etc., etc.."

Cishek looked like horsefeathers after that 20 minute 7th inning stretch. Wanna pick up the pace, get rid of handing out 250 dollar gift certificates to home depot and singing of god bless america.

Why is it so terrible for people to think things aren't that bad, why do you need to convince people the sky is falling?
