Didn't know Avila justified such a severe shift

 

He pretty much pulls every ground ball and hits every fly ball the other way. And he also sprays line drives to every field, equally. He's good a really weird looking spray chart.

Baseball Savant is pretty good. You can break things down there and search and filter for all different sorts of things.

That is weird as horsefeathers. It doesn't even seem possible. Is this something that's pretty consistent throughout his career?

Yes, he always like that. I'm not sure if there are many other players like that. Don't know for sure.
