Miserable season for Clifton continues

Ugh, I know. What's happened?

I've never watched him pitch so I really don't know but the easy answer would be that he doesn't have the stuff to fool guys consistently at that level. Just a lot of balls put in play and so many walks probably means they have no problem identifying and laying off his secondaries and his fastball command has been crap. One thing that should be pointed out is he's a heavy flyball pitcher but is doing a pretty good job of keeping the ball in the yard.

What's his out pitch?

Clifton was having a good season until it all unraveled in early June. It's possible his stuff has regressed over the course of the season.

He was minimizing damage but he wasn't really having that good of a season

I've only watched him pitch once so far. He seemed to have two above average pitches. A fastball at 93 and a good breaking ball that looked like a sharp curve. Certainly good enough to get Low A hitters out. Don't know how it'll play against better levels. He's not overpowering, but he throws strikes.
