7/7 The Cubs play baseball today against the Pirates CSN

And guess who is starting after yesterday's short brutal outing from Monty? None other than the man that gets less whiffs than John Jay, Eddie Butler!

 

The Pirates are starting something called Trevor Williams, and his ERA is in the high 4's, but as we know from watching this team crush guys like Kershaw and get shut down by AAAA material like Blake Snell, ERAs have no predictive value as it pertains to the Cubs.

Dumb question but I thought it was 2 base error if the ball goes out of play. Shouldn't Zobrist have scored, since it was called a hit (meaning Zobrist gets to 2nd) then the 2 extra bases for the error?

He started on first was advancing to second so that's one base, then gets the second base on the ball leaving the yard.

I guess it doesn't make sense logically to me then because in order for Bryant to get credit for a hit, Zobrist would have had to reach 2nd safely. The error would then award 2 additional bases. That might not be the actual rule, but that makes sense to me logically.
