This seems faster than I thought Alzolay threw.

He usually sits a bit(93-94) under that, if he's still sitting at that later on in the game, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

So, 106 or so by the 5th? Stadium gun and all, but yeah, this is super impressive.

Does Alzolay have anything intriguing to offer with his off-speed/breaking pitches?

Honestly, Norris' comments on his CB and CH today are among the first comments I've even seen on his secondaries. The FO thinks highly enough to list him in with the Oscars, Ceases, and Albertoses of the world as a breakout candidate.....So, while that doesn't say anything about his secondaries, it kind of tells me they must have some semblance of potential, to even be put in a breakout candidate mention.

Digging a bit, 2080 has him with a solid/average curve and change. Good athlete, has added some lean muscle this year.

Finished his outing at 6 4 2 2 0 4, 8-2 GO/FO, with 60/85 pitches as strikes. Gave up a homer in his last inning, up 8-0 at the time.

Hudson cruised thru 4, but fell apart in the 5th. Finished 4.1 7 4 4 1 1(error and WP by Silverio in 5th, ER's may change) 9-1 GO/FO for him.

The curve is decent but the change isn't that good, which is why a lot of people think he's destined to be a reliever.

Clifton started off excellent, struggled in the 5th, and finished 5 3 2 2 4 4. Assuming he's done at 93 pitches.

Would anyone believe me if I said that I said Jimenez was the next big thing in the system to an employee of the Cubs in 2015?
Why wouldn't anyone believe you? He was the number 1 overall international free agent. And unless that employee was a hot dog vendor, most Cubs employees were thinking the same thing.

Now if you told them, like you wrote here last year, that Kellogg would be better than Clifton, that would be a bold, unbelievable prediction.

Mekkes is getting bored in South Bend.

2 innings, no hits, no walks, 4 strikeouts. On 22 pitches, 15 strikes
